HELLO LOVELY PEOPLE OF NEWGROUNDS I BRING YOU ANOTHER UPDATE OF WHAT SILLY THINGS I AM UP TO ON HERE!!!

In any case some say that when life gives you lemons, that you need to make lemonade. I don't think there is ever a more true sentiment to certain situations you come across in life. Of course, creativity is often a good outlet for the everyday mundane absurdity we happen to call that.

THAT ASIDE ITS TIME TO PROVIDE SOME UPDATES ON WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO THESE PAST TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST UPDATE SO HERE WE GO!

SUBMISSION UPDATES:

In coordination with the ongoing effort to update several submissions to include content that is related to their initial pieces, the following posts have been given some new content related to them.

Granted, most of these are really just updates to include the native sizes of the original pixel art. HOWEVER, there has been some other things I provided in the Seductive Abyss and Takamaru pieces to include some experiments with CRT style filters.

EVENTUALLY what I'd like to do for some of my digital art pieces I may revise them to include some sketches that are relevant and re-organize a few pieces into one submission, primarily because it's a wee bit jarring to have things all over the place and not keep anything remotely tidy in spite of all the things that have been going on.

COLLABORATIONS:

In some of my recent activity on the BBS you'll notice that I have been taking part in a few collabs as of late. Mainly because I've been feeling the need to take on a few new challenges on my part. The snowman collab hosted by @fe3l1ngsk1lledd is one such project that helped get me thinking somewhat outside of the box. That was a bit of a quickie. However since I feel like it'd be more appropriate to wait until all the submissions are done and he's uploaded all the pieces for every user, you'll have to wait before you see the piece formally in the gallery.

Additionally, I am also now taking part in The Transformers Collab hosted by @CrockettDK on the grounds that I happen to dig giant robots. This is actually going to be something that will put me out of my comfort zone and, I'll be making some artwork for that collab. Maybe even a quick animation once I'm able to get the appropriate software to pull it off. That being state, that is going to be a project alongside Newgrounds Zero Hour to take some priority on my end.

BUT WAIT A SECOND!

There is in fact one other priority that, while not a massive one for me personally actually leads into a slight announcement for a Collab that is simple enough to not create a massive effort on my end since it's intended to be a group effort to create the best shit post possible.

THAT'S RIGHT I'M HOSTING A HAPPY LITTLE COLLAB

It's not intended to be anything massive or labor intensive on my end. I was initially planning to do another request-a-palooza on my end but with the amount of projects I'm taking on and the major life changes I'm currently going through on my end I realized that I'm not going to have as much time to take on a ton of people asking me to create free art. But then I realized something and asked my self "Why should I have all the fun in the joys of drawing?"

So I figured that I would allow for several artists to make and submit some of their own artwork and make it into one masterpiece in it's own right that can be a group effort by the masses of Newgrounders and the rest of all online denizens to enjoy. So here's the drill:

If you partake in the collab you are more than welcome to create up to FIVE drawings!

You read that right! Not a maximum of four, or six, or seven! FIVE is the magic number!

Just be sure to read all the rules in the collab and make sure it doesn't land an A rating. As much as I know some of us want that hot Wailord on Skitty action in an explicit manner, it'd be more of a challenge to make it Funny, Sexy, and Outrageous without making it explicit porn. Think of it like a bachelor show or some Japanese anime dating sim but with a flair of rampant cartoony hilarity and chaos that brings the magic out in all the surfers and memers in us! All of us under the spell of the internet!

SOME FINAL NOTES!

Obviously, it seems like a lot is going on for me personally. Yet life seems to be changing for the better, and soon I'll be on a payroll again and investing my time to help support my creative endeavors. I'm in a better state of mind where I'm more tanned and rested than I have been over the last year where I was pushing myself to insanity doing a 10 hour job four days a week on night shift. Which was insanely stressful on my end and it left me being into more of a salty asshole than usual since I wasn't able to focus on my well being in addition to work and my time to focus on making artwork and getting back into the rhythm of animating.

The biggest challenge in the coming years is handling all of this in my 30's, and it's creeping up on me sooner than I'd like to admit and yet... I have to be real I'm actually looking forward to it compared to my experiences in college and art school having learned my own strengths and weaknesses and getting to know myself better.

So who knows what life will bring me personally through 2024 all the way into 2034? Assuming that World War 3 doesn't wipe out humanity to the point where the majority of us are dead by nuclear and cyber warfare I might be able to save up enough money to attend more Comic-Cons, Pride Events, and Newgrounds Gatherings.

Until then, go fourth, do good for the world, and break out your creative mind and make the world a more colorful place!

ALRIGHT TIME FOR ANOTHER UPDATE!

Alright so this one is going to be a bit of a doozy since there has been a lot going on my end. So I'd like to cover what's been going on in the past few weeks.

FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS I RECENTLY HAD ONE OF MY WORKS GOT FRONT PAGED!

I would like to thank @DaShahRach00 for the recommendation for the Art Portal! I feel like some credit is due there and it was certainly a pleasant surprise that I was not expecting for one of my works!

Second order of business is that I have provided another update for the Corrupted OC's Collab to include the Second and Third batches of artworks made for those who requested their characters back when the collab was still active (Just in time for Halloween too!)

I would like to thank @Template88 who graciously stepped up to cover the requests that I was unable to complete in a timely manner on my own as it was a pretty big help. All users who he covered have also been credited as well.

The only downside is that there is a gallery limit so until a work around is resolved to put his works into the descriptions, I did want to at the very least get the main piece covered.

OTHER UPDATES:

A few weeks back I ended up completing another screen for the Castlevania Redrawn Collab. To my understanding that collab will be live by halloween so stay tuned for that if you want to see some of the other artists who partook in that collaboration. The same is happening for the 1-Bit Artapalooza Spooky Edition Collab so there is a lot to look forward to!

With that update in mind it actually brings me to another bit of the updates I have been applying to some of my previous pixel art pieces as well where I have included the native sizes for their respective works, since I uploaded the other screen I had done for the Castlevania Redrawn collab amongst a few other ones (including the Dark Espeon piece!). I also ended up compiling the Pic0njo Day Collab into one submission as well since I'm able to now include both the NSFW and the SFW works since I can rate each individual piece separately.

EDIT: The 1-Bit Artapalooza Spooky Collab is now live! Huge shoutout to @TravelSizedLions for organizing the collab and even though I made one small contribution it was a pleasure to take on a small submission for the project!

HAPPENINGS:

Recently, I ended up getting a job offer for full time employment. There is going to be some paperwork that will be signed and some of my time will be taken once that goes through, but it will be for the best I feel like since right now I need a steady course of income on my end to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm not in the exact best position financially to make my art freelancing into a full time thing, but it is something I intend to continue in addition to any self study and other projects I am working on for the time being.

Also, HOCKEY SEASON IS BACK! Gonna be cheering for my team the Bruins and a couple of other favorites. I don't know how many people are into hockey for NHL or any of the other leagues that are around but if anyone wants some of my insights by all means hit me up in the NHL Hockey Fan Club that has been around since 2004 that @MattThePAranoidKat created.

Am I really thinking this or am I reading it?

So I haven't exactly bothered to write everything new lately, A lot has been going on IRL between job hunting and some other things that came up while I'm doing what I can to maintain my own health where I had to reschedule a therapy appointment I don't know how many times due to some weird run-around at the place I've been going to lately concerning my medical issues. It's been more hectic and it's a lot more than I care to really get into. But I hope that helps shed things into some light for those who follow me.

To get some good news out of the way first, still doing what I've been doing since last time, but I've also returned to meandering on TheVGResource forums again because in the near future there is a personal sprite project that I would like to get back into that I would like to get back into and I might be able to get feedback from there on it. Same with SMWCentral. But that's going to be a few months away. I'm also almost done with another Castlevania Collab piece that I am getting done. So that's something you might want to stay tuned for, ultimately as mentioned in my previous posts I still have my priorities for the projects I'm lending a hand to so I'm not going to repeat too much about it since I'd rather be more focused about the upcoming future plans I have concerning my profile.

Anyways, I suppose it's worth mentioning far as what has been going on here since the massive Art Portal Update and I got the chance to try it out finally. And I gotta say, I am happy about how it works because it makes it far more easier on my end to upload multiple images into one post.

That said I've actually been looking over some of my submissions and I realized that there is actually a pretty good opportunity for me to re-organize some of my artwork and compact some of the posts I have made over the years. I feel like using the multiple image feature I can also finally upload some of the files that I initially didn't want to upload due to the resolution size of the native pixel art I made before I adjusted the size of the work I exported into their respective images for the sake of easier viewing if anyone is on Newgrounds through mobile.

So wait, hold on a minute, you mean to tell us that there is some content you haven't posted?

There's some stuff that you want to add related to current content that's uploaded?

Some new projects? A big giant brownie that only kings and gods could get high off of?

WHAT DO U MEAN?!?!?!?

This is going to be a project more for here for me to do that will be ongoing with a couple of to-dos I have in mind and you'll be noticing that over time. For some submissions, like the pixel work I have done for the Corrupted OC's Collab I'd like to compile all into one post for everyone's viewing so no one has to hop around between different submissions for example. EDIT: The update for the Corrupted OC's project has gone through! Some of you guys should be receiving a DM to be added on the credits list for contributing your requests to it.

The other thing too is that I may end up posting some WIP related content to some submissions given the gallery features because there are a few pictures that I'm willing to compile into a few gifs for anyone who is inspired to also do what I'm doing.

There is no clear timeline to when this is all going to be complete, so I will be updating which ones will be updated as frequently as I am able to in the upcoming blogs I post here since it's relevant to Newgrounds specifically.

Or not and just enjoy seeing my work or whatever else you're. I don't really give that much of a shit.

CATCH THE WAVE

So, this is a news post that I didn’t want to make but ultimately, it needs to be said since I have been helping out with Newgrounds: Zero Hour for the past year now.

Concerning what has been going on with ThatJohnnyGuy. I cannot defend his actions regarding what has come to light, nor do I condone them. I do not know the details besides what has been brought up as I’ve only known Johnny for a year. So please, don’t ask me anything in regards to his problems. I really don't need the headache.

A lot of things were put up in the air with the project. What I can say is that the project will continue, but it will do so without Johnny’s involvement and there has been a change in leadership. I will continue to work on it as a sprite artist for the team.

Edit: Now that my thoughts are more settled in, I want to add the following to expand the second paragraph exclusively, that stated this opinion is my own and no one else's.

Far as my professional ties with Johnny himself and myself are concerned, I have chosen to cut ties in light of these developments. Ultimately this decision for why I'm distancing myself should be evident so I'm not going to repeat what I have stated in my initial stance and what I expressed in my comments on this news blog.

He needs to take responsibility given the decisions he made in his life prior to my joining on Zero Hour. I can't in good conscience continue to maintain that connection between myself and him, and that has nothing to do with the project I joined knowing that it can carry on w/o him even if several changes have to be made in the long run.

I'm only hoping that he does get the help he needs. There isn't much else that I can say beyond that.

This is something that I have long been meaning to put up, but never had a whole lot of time to really organize this thoroughly as I would like until now.

Yes, I'm opening up for commissions. All prices listed are bases for an hourly rate depending on estimated time needed to put the work in for your piece.

As of right now, I'm limiting myself to three slots to see how that will work out. That may change in the future.

8/8/23 EDIT: It is also very much my birthday today! I was debating whether or not I should make a new blog post about it but I figure that it would be better to bring that up in passing.

One year closer to 30, but still feeling like a kid sometimes. Age is weird.

Not that it has anything to do with here all that much but some bastard managed to fool me into thinking that one of my friends needed help when it turned out to be a hacked account using Ai.

Hackers and scammers are getting smart with this tech and that's the scary thing that worries me. Too bad these people have chhota lands as the hindis call them otherwise they wouldn't be desperate to take advantage of people.

Recently, I just hit the milestone of 100 followers on Newgrounds! I couldn't be thankful enough for everyone who has supported me and my work since I've gotten more active on here.

So, where do I plan on going from here? Obviously one thing remains the same that I will be continuing to hone my craft and do what I can to support my fellow Newgrounders on here. Soon as I work toward the next milestone of 200 things are going to get more interesting. That much I promise on my end.

And while the world continues to go wild, as always I'm gonna have a thing or two to say about some of it true to my own fashion.

Honestly given how Elon has pretty much been shitting on the platform and forcing tweet limits in the news feed I'm pretty much done and closing it.

I'd rather just cut my losses and move on. I'm probably going to make a follow up post on this in the coming days because besides Elon driving the platform into oblivion I got other gripes with the site and it's user-base as of late that I've been having as of late that finally forced me to pull the plug on it.
